The Gravostar QP-20 is a fulling tool for deep markings, which is driven by the spindle of the machine tool. The workpiece is marked by a rotating, spring-loaded tool. The tool tip (needle tip) has side-ground surfaces for applying the marking to the material. It is a combination of material displacement and, depending on the material, also a chip removing process. As soon as the needle tip is moved against the workpiece, it presses into the surface with a defined charging pressure and the marking can start.

The consistent preload pressure of the marking needle, which is spring-loaded in the axial direction, allows even uneven marking surfaces to be marked with a consistent font depth.

The primary application is for very deep markings on components used in harsh, abrasive environments. It is also ideal for marking workpieces that will subsequently be painted or coated with paint.

For use in machine tools, automatic lathes, etc. – no additional installation required

Suitable materials

Light metals, iron casting, ductile iron casting, steel, Inconel (practically all machinable materials up to approximately 62 HRC)
